Roads End State Recreation Site

Roads End Recreation Site in Lincoln City, Oregon

Roads End State Recreation Site is part of the Cascade Head Marine Reserve and protected by Marine Protected Areas. As such, collecting fish, invertebrates, and seaweed is prohibited in this area.
If you seek an alternative beach experience, Roads End Point in Lincoln City is the ideal destination for you! Despite its miles of sandy beaches, the city offers adventurers a chance to explore the rocky coastline and uncover hidden coves. With over a mile-long journey from the parking area to its tide pools, this stunning location will satisfy all your wildest ocean dreams!
Take a leisurely stroll on the sandy beach to the point and be treated to breathtaking views of coastal cottages and grand homes. Kiteboarders often come here, as this area is ideally suited to their sport due to its ideal conditions. At low tide you can explore amazing tidal pools at the south end of the point. When your journey is over, cautiously wander through large hummock-like rocks around the point to uncover a secret stretch of sand shoreline. For those looking to capture the quintessential Oregon coast sunset shots, this undiscovered location is a must-see. This quaint cove is framed by large impressive boulders protruding from the water just offshore–a seriously picturesque place that any photographer would be delighted with!
Revel in the splendor of this unique area as you witness waves breaking upon boulders and hear their gentle roar. Let your eyes wander to watch sea birds flutter over headlands, out towards offshore rocks. Take your time discovering its hidden gems, but be mindful that steep gradients can easily succumb to erosion. Unfortunately, attempting a climb up these unstable soils is not an option; the only way out is back the way you came. Keep note of tides – high tides may restrict access to the coves below.

Reviews of Roads End Recreation Site

“Charming beach with some great bedrock exposed during low tide. Even possible tide pools if you visit after a storm has uncovered these areas. Part of the Lincoln city tourism program is to leave local artist created sea glass floats along the beaches and this is one of them. Unfortunately we didn’t find one this time but it’s always worth a stop for the quick walk to the beach from the ample parking lot. Just down the street from Chinook winds casino this has quickly turned into one of our favorite spots. I highly recommend spending some time down here. But if you bring a dog please keep them on a leash.”

“If you’re looking for a great place to explore the Oregon coast this is it! This is a really nice, easily accessible State Recreation site. There are different Trails you can go down to get to the beach, plenty of parking, and clean restrooms. There are picnic tables along the parking area with great views of the ocean. The sound is amazing, what a nice place to have lunch! The views here are amazing! It is a nice place that seems to be shielded from some of the more serious winds on the Oregon coast. It’s a great place to take kids and dogs. It is less busy than some of the other public beach access points around Lincoln City.”
